The Exceed Homes display home located at the Googong Display Village, demonstrates the quality we deliver. The display home is testament to the way we create homes meeting the environmental context of the land (slope, solar aspect, block size, shape etc) and considering current architectural and structural options.

The display home in Googong demonstrates the Exceed Homes 3D Build approach. A modern take on an “Eichler” Home taking the key principles of “California Modern” architecture and using modern technology and materials to build a totally unique home. Alex D’Ambrosio from Arkitex was our architectural partner for this project. Alex delivered on the brief provided, designing a “California Modern” home using modern building materials and took advantage of the orientation of the block.

Home features include:

  • Floor to ceiling glazing to link the outdoors with the indoors
    Clean Colourbond skillion roof design with up to 5-metre high raked ceilings to large open living areas
  • Bringing the outside elements in with the elegant Dry Pressed Mowbray Blue linear brick by PGH
  • Large open air outdoor area in the middle of the home with a stylish Narellan pool and Alfresco kitchen
  • External living spaces in the middle of the home to cater for privacy on ever shrinking residential blocks
  • Lightweight building materials that look great, are durable and better for the environment

Technology in the Home

  • Home protection using Swann Security System: including 4k Ultra HD recording; Heat and motion sensing and night recording.
  • Velux Skylights with NETATMO indoor climate control:
    creates a healthier indoor climate in your home – automatically.
    Sensors measure temperature, CO2 and humidity and
    operate your Velux Skylights and blinds accordingly.

Interior Design

A key component to a successful custom home build is the interior design. Exceed Homes in partnership with Julie Dalmasso from JMD Design explored all aspects of the display home. From the colour schemes and furnishings to the tile finish, grout colour and tile spacing, all aspects of design were considered as part of the brief.

Key design features include:

  • Organic materials and colours to give the home a natural mid-century vibe
  • Key wall, ceiling and floor elements extending from inside the home to the outside to make the home feel larger than it is
  • Clever use of joinery design and materials from Exceed Homes partner Laminex to provide an outstanding result without breaking the bank
  • Elegant window furnishings from BMAC Window Furnishings that complement the retro furniture selected for the home.
