Oxalis House
Oxalis House is a custom-designed split-level four-bedroom residence built on a challenging terrace-style block. The design responds directly to the natural fall of the land, using level changes to create functional zoning while maintaining strong visual connections between spaces.
The stepped layout allows the home to sit comfortably within its site, minimising bulk while maximising internal volume and natural light. Raked ceilings to the core living areas enhance the sense of openness, introducing vertical dimension and architectural interest to the heart of the home.
Custom joinery has been integrated throughout, ensuring cohesive detailing and tailored storage solutions across every room. Natural stone benchtops anchor the kitchen and wet areas, adding durability and refinement while complementing the home’s material palette.
Warm timber finishes paired with soft, neutral colour tones create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. This combination of textures and restrained hues gives the home a contemporary yet grounded feel, balancing architectural intent with everyday comfort.
Oxalis House demonstrates how intelligent split-level design and considered material selection can transform a complex block into a highly functional and beautifully resolved family home.
